That's a good question! Personally I do not care for that look, preferring them to be an inch off the floor.

I also prefer mine a little off the floor also because of the vacuum.

Did I miss something? Is puddling still in style? As others have said, I much prefer just off the floor. My DR drapes are actually just at the bottom of the window trim. My DM made them for me 20+ years ago. They still look brand new and I still love the fabric. They make me happy.

It's just a matter of style...like hemlines. Short of the floor looks a little odd to me. I prefer just skimming the floor. But then again, depending on the formality of the room, I've seen some puddling that I like.

I'm not a puddler either. It's just a way for the bottom of the drapes to get dirtier IMO. So I just skim the floor with the ones I have. My lace curtains are a bit shorter -- probably an inch off the floor but that is the way they came and I don't want to hang them lower.
