Help with eat in kitchen!

Hi all! We just moved into our house, and I would love some help figuring out what to put in these space in my kitchen. The double doors lead into our tv room. I was thinking of putting a hutch on the wall across from the table, and not sure what to put on the wall next to the table. Thoughts? Ideas? Advice?
Thank you!

I would weep with joy if I had your beautiful kitchen!

IMO a hutch would be just the right thing for the wall opposite the table. It will give the whole space a finished look.

For the wall next to the table how about a sturdy bookcase that is around 3' high. You can put baskets for toys and children's books on its shelves. Then hang some wall art above the bookcase, or perhaps a cork board for a display of children's drawings. You could try the small case that's in front of the door and if that works out, consider something larger eventually.

Beautiful french doors. I see you have one propped. Reality time--when would one ever live with those doors closed? I would have to remove them. Then you have more wall space. LOL. I am not a fan of toys in a kitchen--too dangerous. Having kid storage that close encourages slop over to kitchen IMHO. I would say a need for art/crafting supplies for kiddos was a NEED in my kitchens. Love the idea of a hutch of some sort. Back in the day, I had a trestle table with bench seating with storage in a similar window. I did not have the wall space. Is there a door to the garage where the white chairs are stacked? Perhaps you need a coat/shoe drop off organizer type piece?

and you would be all set.

The one wall is part of the passage to the family room, so I don't think you want anything deep. A shallow console with a shelf underneath. With baskets for placemats and napkins so the little one can help set the table when big enough. Then artwork above. If you need a hutch (and it looks like you have plenty of storage), I'd put it between the table and the family room door if there is room, and if there's still room to pull out the chair at the table or scoot around it.

Do you need the hutch? I'd love to see some rugs and art in your kitchen before more furniture. A runner in front of your sink would look great.

I see you have kiddos but the polypropylene indoor outdoor rugs are basically bullet proof.

A tall hutch might make the space look cramped. A console table height storage cabinet with some art above it would look nice.

Here is one in a transitional style.

Thank you for all the advice! I definitely like the idea of adding some rugs and decor on the walls. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that.
I love the idea of a bench, but I have no place for it. We also have a built in desk in the corner and the garage door is flanked by the laundry room and bathroom in either side ( see photos). I am going to play around with different setups and see what works.

I'd say just art you don't want to cramp your eating area by adding furniture. I also agree with the above poster you need to pull the table away from the wall it will look and function so much better!

Congratulations on your beautiful new home! I think a hutch will feel too heavy and imposing on that wall. I would recommend a buffet for storage with artwork or a mirror on the wall above it, similar to these:

    Good luck!

Just want to agree with the others that a sideboard might work but that a hutch on top of it would be undesirable. It's not just cramping there but the effect of its tall mass would be added to the masses of the wall cabinets in the kitchen. Too much.

Also strongly agree with pulling the table out. It's a very important center of family living, so it should have the luxuriance of space and the setting that deserves, and the table should have primacy within that space. Everything else would be there to develop the space for happy family dining. Including those nearby walls.

I love French doors, but it does seem like they are invading your space a bit. Any way they could be arranged to open into your family room? That would allow for better flow around you kitchen table. You have a very nice kitchen!
