The waterline tile is a recycled glass tile - actually the same tile this owner used for their kitchen back splash. I am not even going to tell you the name of the tile because, in talking with the owner, they have had to replace it. Apparently it is not appropriate for use in a pool, the chemicals and the tile are not compatible. Unfortunately, they received incorrect information from either the tile or the pool company about its use in a pool setting.

Thank you so much for checking into this for me. Bummer for the pool owners! I'm working with a client in MI on tile and coping finishes and that has been the tricky part--finding glass tile rated for use in a pool that will freeze in the winter. I appreciate your time.
