I would cute both sides of the wall and add a few round columns also trim it all the way around both sides of the same .

Beautiful, but my kitchen actually over looks the family

I have an odd wall that looks a bit like yours, I lined up a row of small decorative mirrors there. I was trying to find an example on line to show you but I couldn't find any.

You could do a small row of family pictures, or frame art that your children made.

You could add a row of small prints of art. Or one long thin piece. You could go classy or with some humor, which is fitting for a kitchen.

It comes in black and white, olive, tan, and a gold to brown scheme. They can be mixed and matched for an eclectic look. I'm also attaching the sizes the series prints in.

Erm...I just realized I put 6 in this mockup...I would recommend 5 or 7, odd numbers look better. =)

What would be reflected matters though...if there is nothing interesting on the opposite wall, mirrors may not be a good idea. However, mine hang so high that all they reflect is wall, and I am fine with that because the shape of the mirrors is what I enjoy.

You could fill the area with a lead glass picture, something simple.
