Kohler Cast Iron sink, what color would you recommend?

Remodeling a kitchen. Starmark Marshmallow Cream cabinets, Pental Quartz Stormy Sky counters, Unicom Starker Muse Statuario 3x12 backsplash tiles, medium brown wood floors. Would like Kohler Cast Iron sink but unsure what color works best. White, Dune, Sea Salt or something else? Would love to hear your color recommendations.

Any color other than white will cost you more. I got a white kohler, 50/50 with a low divide, like it a lot.

Let’s see a picture of the counters. The sink is the direct abutter, so you want the horizontal to blend.

And what are the appliances my dear?

With respect, I've seen some older cast iron Kohler's, and they vary... some look like those Joseph posted and others looked new or close to with only a tiny chip (or not). I think people initially used abrasives to clean them... once you do, they just soak up stains.

brigitte2530, call Kohler and request color samples. I think they are still a dollar each and they mail them to you. The color chips are small, but cast iron with porcelain, so are the 'real deal' and will help you in deciding. Sea Salt is pretty - white but different and hard to describe. Also the most $$$ of the colors. Would love that color, but waiting to see cost of HVAC and other things before we decide.

Appliances are stainless steel. I’m attaching photo with samples of the counter, cabinet, backsplash and floor. I would like to reuse these knobs from my existing kitchen. I was also thinking chrome faucet to add some shine? The sink will be under mount (not apron). I was worried the kohler white might be too white with my cabinet and backsplash so I was considering dune and sea salt as well. Currently I have a stainless bar sink in my kitchen and a white cast iron main sink, both over 20 years old and showing some wear but the cast iron looks far better. I love my cast iron sink.

Order some color chips from kohler. i have sea salt and like it, the shade of white is slightly different than regular white, but it also has this subtle crackle sort of texture. It's probably going to be your best choice, however its a few hundred more than plain white which can be tough to justify esp for a non apron undermount.

brigitte2530, Kohler makes a biscuit also but I think it might be a tad dark for you... I've not got my samples in an easy place to reach right now... again, I'd suggest you order samples from them for a good match and to see the actual color tones since screens and monitors don't do colors justice.

Regarding the chrome faucet, why not consider a brushed nickel as it won't show water spots, smudges nearly so much.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Joe I respect your opinions and advice and have seen your comments on many posts. This is all learning experience. I do have cast iron now and I love it (just not the double bowl). The sink is more than 20 years old and looks nothing like your photos. SS is ok. Have that for my second sink currently and plan to replace my second sink with another SS sink in a different size. I have no experience with Silgranite but did see a couple silgranite sinks in person and I did not love it. Guess I’m in the minority there. So many people love the Sea Salt color from Kohler as well and Im not loving that either. I found a Kohler showroom who gave me samples of several colors to take home. So far Dune looks like the winner! I think its still white enough to be classic and not become dated (I hope.)

Dune is great. You might also like Cashmere. Visiting a local plumbing supplier is a good idea, they can give out color chips and the price and service are better than online or big box. Especially this year. With respect a lot of those photos up top aren’t Kohler cast iron, some are Enamel over steel, or off brands. A bottom basin rack is a good idea but that level of damage is either surface markings from failure to clean or again, different material than Kohler cast iron. r it Granite sinks aren’t nearly as durable, they can break and then the replacement probably doesn’t fit the same cutout and there goes your countertops.

Interesting but according to the Kohler website, DUNE is Discontinued?

CASHMERE would make a very nice choice, and a good contrast to the kitchen color palette you're already using. Couple this with nickel faucets, and your kitchen would be looking beautifully put together.
