Worried about iris under ice.

Good afternoon-

I planted some TB iris in the fall in a new bed tilled from the lawn. It looks like there has been some settling of soil as the iris I planted are at varying levels now. A few sunk down and are now in a sort of ice pool. The ones that are higher and exposed seem soft. Outside temps today are low 40s and we still have months before ice will all be gone (zone 4, Alaska).

Are any of these going to make it, or am I worrying over nothing?

Iris are tough, so don't count them out. All I have is my experience with some that froze below a rain gutter that clogged so that it caused water to drip off the roof onto a patch of Iris. The tubers were getting dripped on, then frozen, then thawed and sitting in water, frozen again, and so on. They couldn't deal with all that moisture, and I assume they rotted. Not sure if that will happen to yours. All I can say is wait and see, and good luck.
