DD has that buffet from her MIL who refinished it inadequately. It is a pretty piece.

They are beautiful. I would surely not throw them out!

Boy they all could use a good cleaning, but they are nice mahogany pieces. The problem right now is the furniture isn’t “in” for the younger crowd. If you look at magazines the “in” rooms often have pieces like this in good clean condition mixed with more modern pieces and it works. But a room full of these pieces together is overwhelming. I have pieces like this mixed with modern furniture and no one ever says it looks like grandma lives in my house.

Looks like good quality Hepplewhite repros from maybe the 30's to the 70's. Never goes out of style...not currently sought after by the faddists but always good stuff.
Definitly keep it....but please don't strip it nor do that chalk paint abomination!

Beautiful pieces but I agree, not the style of the moment and perhaps too much of a good thing? Maybe think outside the intended use box a bit and spread them out within the house. For example I could see the buffet piece being used in a bedroom. I'd use the top drawer or for jewelry (think stacking trays) and the side cupboards for sweaters. The desk could serve double duty as a sofa table and desk if you have room to float a sofa in a room.

The larger question is why would you throw out usable furniture just because you didn't like the style? Offer it for free or donate it to Habitat for Humanity or another charity.
