Pretty Phal.

Growing many plants in trees, I often forget them and overlook them. Sometimes I stumble upon blooms and am always pleasantly surprised. Mostly because I realize these are plants which had no care at all. As the tree grows, it hides the plant.

Here is a Den I discovered this summer. I had forgotten about it and could not see it at all until it sent spikes a few feet into the sun.

Pretty!! I usually remember what the blooms look like, but it's so nice to see them again when they bloom. This year I have FOUR phals that people have left with me in need of some TLC... I have no idea what color they are, and some won't bloom again until next year, and I'm antsy to see what we have!

Oddly enough, I nursed a sad phal back to life a few years ago, and when it finally opened, it looked really similar to yours! It was such a wonderful surprise, because the buds were pale yellow, with no hint to that pattern inside! Usually spots or stripes show themselves on the outside of the bud, too, but this one saves the show for when it opens!

Jane, what a great find!!! It is so nice when they can live outside like that! When I lived in S.FL we had them hanging from trees in our backyard. Dannie, yes, it looks much like mine! So very pretty! Mine also does not show anything from the buds..they look greenish and then, wow! Enjoy!

Oh wow beautiful phal Laura! I love those colors on the lip. It's humid enough in Florida that they don't even need watering and they'll suddenly bloom with neglect?? Wish we had that here!

That just happened to me this morning. I could not remember this one, and it finally opened its first flower today, well after all my others are in full swing.
