Slip-potting / Double-potting

Can someone please explain this bullet point, p. 92, GTS book:

"Plants may be slip-potted into clean, non-decorative pots. Show rules may dictate the color of the pot; it usually must be the same color as the pot underneath. Slip-potting is not the same as "double-potting."

  • What is double-potting?
  • Slip-potting means taking whole plant and soil and slipping into another pot? Why would there be a pot underneath? This is confusing.

TIA for your explanations!
