Help with light fixture

Hello

i recently purchased a overhead light for my vanity (not the best location, I know). I purchased a brass shade, which causes a significant shadow overhead. I want to switch to a clear cone shade. My question is, the company, schoolhouse electric, offers two sizes 7 and 9", purely in terms of lighting, is one better than the other? Would you suggest milk glass or clear glass?

hjk73...is this the only light source in your vanity? Is it a full bathroom or powder room? Why cone shade...7-9" seems to be a minor difference anyway. What is your ceiling height?

No I have one other can light above the (open) shower. It’s a really small full bath. I put the fixture I without much thought to how the shade would affect the light. (Silly me).

My preference would be for milk glass to eliminate shadows.

Any reason why a cone shape is your choice over a round globe or flush mount for instance?

What is the ceiling height?
