What to do with bathroom remodel

Working on the last major project in my 60s house. The floorplan below is generally what the bathroom looks like. I've already bought a 48" vanity I like, and begun ripping out the old tile around the tub, removing the too-deep closets, etc., but can't figure out how to work around the front hall closet (bottom left corner in the floorplan).

I can't expand the room in any direction unfortunately. I'm okay with moving the bathroom door and losing the front closet if needed. I'd like to put in a clerestory window, a walk-in shower, and want to keep the 48" vanity. Linen storage would be a plus too.

HI -- If having a shower is more important to you than the front closet ,... then take out the closet and put in a big shower . As for the bathroom door you could put in a pocket door or have the bathroom door swing out . Then you will have room for a linen closet beside the vanity . Possibly you will have to center the door for a swing out door which I think is the best idea .

Hi, Ashley,
Your contractor will probably come up with a better plan, but here goes... 1) make front hall closet 2’4” x 2’4”, which gives you room in bathroom for 2) 3’x4’ shower where bathroom door was, and 3) move vanity to where tub was, and 4) move bathroom door (you said you can move it) to wall where tub was, and 5) add 18”x32” linen closet (or shelves and drawers) behind the new door. You won’t be moving plumbing for toilet or vanity, but will need new plumbing on a second wall for shower. The photo below shows the new bathroom door as a doorway just so you can see the linen storage area behind the door.

So you are giving up the tub and having a shower, when you say front hall closet do you mean coat closet? I would like pics of the space not just a floor plan. Hard to tell where you are thinking of the window. Pocket doors are awesome in these situations but of course require work on the wall to prepare.

Here is the bathroom originally. I reworked the space so that the bathroom expanded out to put a 48" vanity in place of the original sink.

Are you trying to fit a tub and separate shower in the space?

My preference would be to have a shower, but I'm not sure there is room.
