Looking for help with layout for the rear entry for our home. Front of the house is waterfront. So rear entry on the back wall has a lot of appeal to be able to look straight through the house. But we are worried it will feel too much like a tunnel. Larger room on the opposite is family room so we want to preserve As much sq ft as possible there

Considering side entry as seen in first layout pic to get rid of the tunnel feel, and then door is closer to driveway (south facing side of house).

We keep going back to our architect with different requests but nothing feels perfect so far. Any other ideas??

We want a decent sized mudroom, with lots of closet space for 2 kids and lots of outdoor gear. Bathroom close to entry, and laundry nearby as well.

The entry will flow into the kitchen, which is open to front of house, water, and dining area.
