Trying to figure out what style of house this is. Anyone have any ideas?

Lovely home. Remove the shutters on the large window and get properly sized shutters for the others.

Love the location of this home next to the lake. Agree with chiflipper. Here is a brief article written by an architect about shutters: Shutters vs Shudders

I’m definitely not an expert but my first thought was prairie style.
Bet someone will know for sure

I looked up colonial and prairie style. I’m now in the colonial camp.
Here’s a blurb on colonial characteristics:
Regardless of the size of the home, Colonial-style homes share several characteristics, according to Architecture for Kids. First, the homes are symmetrical, or square, and feature an entry door that can be found in the middle of the front of the home. The style also features two windows on either side of the entry door, with five windows on the second floor, with one directly above the entry door. Other characteristics include paired chimneys, a medium pitched roof to provide drainage in rainy weather and a stairway that is directly behind the entry door and leads to a hallway that bisects the middle of the second floor.

Well, it's colonial only in the very, very broadest sense of the term. No colonial ever had a front entry like that, nor picture windows nor one-over-one double hungs of that aspect. It's clearly a child of the '50s.

It's gorgeous. I think it might look better without shutters.

Center Hall colonial with a fancy portico. Somebody spent a lot of money on the facade of this home. Colonials also come in side hall versions, which you see on smaller lot sizes throughout the Northeast. Perhaps all the gingerbread is hiding the fact that this is still a colonial under the skin.

This is a “remuddled” colonial. I personally would put more substantial posts on porch and remove the iron. I would also either paint or replace the roof of porch awning with copper. Just having it painted like trim cheapens the look. Is that real stone or faux on facade?

To stick with answering your question it is a colonial 2 story with middle entrance...here is some info for you...

The house is real stone. What recommendations would you all make to “spruce” up the exterior?
