You could almost go with anything! I would change the curtains. The grommet one is to short. The valance needs updating.

Here are some samples of stone and glass tile backsplash. Taking a cue from the curtain/valance color.

I would match the granite or use stainless steel so its easy to clean. Plus if ou live there a long time you could get tired of the color's. just my opinion.

I'm not a fan of black back splashes. Too often they look like a big black stripe in the middle of the room. I'd choose something lighter.

Is there a general rule of thumb to follow when choosing a backsplash?
I've heard things about choosing a color from the counter and a color from the cabinets and combing those together. But I feel there would be just too much brown?
I wanted something to seperate the browns actually, or have brown but add some color in the mix....
