How to remove/replace Sub Zero logo/badge on fridge/freezer

In my kitchen remodel I am getting a new built in SZ freezer to match the built in SZ fridge I have had for a few years. The BI series was redesigned a few years back but as best I can tell the only things that changed were the outside logo and the use of LED lighting. So, I have replaced the lighting with LEDs in the older fridge and sourced the newer design of SZ logo/badge to go on the outside of the fridge so it will match the newer freezer. The new logos came in two varieties: one is flat with double sided tape on the back and the other has two plastic posts sticking off the rear of it. Does anyone know how the BI logos mount? I assume it is the flat model. If so, I should be able to just use fishing line or floss to break the seal on the back of the logo and line up the new one and then stick it on. However, if it is the two post logo I am not sure how it is attached. Has anyone ever done this? Many thanks in advance for the insight.

    If the freezer has the grill at the top I think it might have the posts if it is 10+ years old. I believe all the newer ones are double stick tape.

    Use Dental floss to take off an stuck on logo by working it behind the logo and "sawing " back and forth.

      Thanks. It is a BI model so it does have the grill on top but it is only 3 years old so my money is on the double stick tape.

      3M makes an automotive emblem solvent that is relatively harmless to automotive paint. Dribbling a bit of that on the emblem edge or on the dental floss as you "saw" may be an aid.

      I didn't put the logos on my 5 yo BI SubZ, I like it better w/out any.

      I finally got around to doing this today. Tried dental floss but it kept on breaking. Then got some fishing line and it broke as well. The magic trick was getting my wife to use her hair dryer to soften the adhesive while I was sawing at it with the fishing line. Came off easily after the adhesive was softened. Then hit it with a little goo b gone to remove the leftover adhesive residue. Finally used painter's tape to make a template and stuck the new logo on. Now it matches the new freezer with the newer style logo nicely. Hopefully this will help someone in the future that is as bizarre as me.

      Where did you find the logo badges? I recently purchased a home with several sub zero appliance. The mini fridge and the wine cooler are both missing the logo badges?

      My SubZero fridge came with a logo badge in the same bag that the manual was in. I wasn't going to put it on, and my contractor confirmed that outside of a showroom, he had never seen anybody attach the logo.

      So, there probably are thousands of these unused logos all over the place. But I suspect your best bet would be to call SubZero and to ask them nicely. Or you could look on EBay. I see there currently is one listed at $25. A little steep for a piece of plastic, but if it solves your problem, it might be worth it.

      Bill Purcell did you have any residue or discloration of the stainless steel after removing the logo???
