Repotting Bulbophyllums: medusae, cumingii, lepidum,

I recently bought some of the above one week ago, in small 2.75" pots, non-blooming, and some of them are already crawling out of their pots. The spagh medium tops are blackish probably from the greenhouse, maybe algae, but I want to just pop them in better sphag in net pots. Just take them out, loosen the old sphag a little, not enough to disturb the roots, and stuff more clean sphag around them. I know it is not yet spring, but I cannot stand looking at them. Should I wait or do it now carefully?

I live in Miami, Fl and it is cool now, although the last two weeks we were down to 48 degrees some nights.

Thanks for any thoughts.
