Find a fun bathroom mirror?

I have almost all the elements for our upstairs guest bath except a fun mirror. Here is a picture of the bathroom where the pedestal sink will go.

The walls are being painted BM Claliente.

Here is the light for over the mirror.
Here is the shelf for under the mirror.

And here is the overhead light fixture.

The faucets and other plumbing will be chrome as will be the towel bars and hooks.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Look at Uttermost, then you can find their mirrors almost anywhere. Nice bath!

Thank you beckysharp. I do like those but what I'm hoping to find is something a bit more "funky" or "fun" than the standard options. Something "unexpected" but not garish. However I will definitely keep those options open if I don't come up with anything else.

    Thank you woodteam.

Thank you Allison. Will definitely look.

Is round an option? None of these are that exciting but I love a round mirror in a bathroom -- it is a little bit different from the norm, and wouldn't detract from your other cool details (love the shelf and the lights). I'd be concerned that an overly detailed mirror might be too much.

I like the idea of a wood mirror to add some warmth. Not sure about the above wood colors with the red wall, though. Maybe a black painted wood mirror?

My concept of fun is clearly too staid lol.

    What about

I was thinking maybe a black lacquered pagoda/Chinoiserie style against the !Caliente! wall. Would work with 1920s too. Will see what I can find.

There are lots of Baroque style fun mirrors on google search.

I would go for interesting instead of fun but that's me. Some sort of fun strap for hanging?

    Or, check here...

Some really great ideas. Some I hadn't thought of. Now I'm going to have to download and really get serious as to what I want.

BTW: I also need a mirror for my powder room, but will start a thread for that one.

How fun, cp?! 1920s fun or some other kind?

1920's, or etsy fun or ??? Even though my house is craftsman inspired, I like to add in some fun touches or the unexpected in small doses. Nothing where it's in your face, but almost where you don't necessarily notice at first glance.

    Is round an option?

Round is an option if the right one came along.

I'd be concerned that an overly detailed mirror might be too much.

I agree that I'm walking a fine line there.

I like the idea of a wood mirror to add some warmth. Not sure about the above wood colors with the red wall, though. Maybe a black painted wood mirror?

I'm not so sure about a wood mirror, unless it's like the round black wood one you linked. The red, though just a small dose is quite strong. Here it is with it painted today.

I'd keep an eye on Craigs List or antique/consignment shops, too, for something different. Even if you have to use a temporary cheapie mirror while you hunt...

I may do that in reality if I don't find something wonderful.

Dyhgarden, I do like that one even though it's not what I was originally thinking of. I think it might be too large though. I'm going to go measure again tomorrow.

Justerrilynn, I keep eyeing those baroque style mirrors but wonder if that might be too much? Or too out of character? Thoughts?

I do love that third hanging mirror but with my light fixture I wonder how they would work together?

I was thinking maybe a black lacquered pagoda/Chinoiserie style against the !Caliente! wall. Would work with 1920s too. Will see what I can find.

OH, I think you may be onto something! I do love Chinoiserie style done well.

All those that I would pick are located in the UK...(I know having also been looking for a different kind of look)

Try consignment shops too...people (near me anyways) seem to buy beautiful mirrors and then can't use them in the next house...

Oh what a potential! I like the Schoolhouse one, the bone inlay one, the wonderland..the idea of Pagoda, I like the best-the problem is, they're usually bigger..I mean higher..but who knows.

(I searched a bit yesterday..found couple in frames of the colors of your Caliente(too matchy?)..these were a tad too large though..then I saw some perfect mirror..why it was 6 thousands pound sterlings I wouldn't know..well okay..will continue to look:) But the site was madeindesign..I think..they have lots of fun mirrors there

I checked EBTH-some cool mirrors but nothing that spells to me your bathroom in the moment..btw it's already fab..unfinished yet..your bathroom

    I'll look on Etsy

Rockett St George used to have smth I wanted to show-well, not anymore.

Mirrors are not that easy. They seem easy but they aren't. But if round/oval may work-that widens our search.

Thank you all for some absolutely fabulous ideas. I'm tired now (and still a bit tired after getting over the flu) but wanted to let you all know tomorrow I'm going to really study all these great ideas.

wwbungalow, yes I've ruled out a medicine cabinet in the upstairs bathroom. My guests will only be staying a few days and there's a very large linen closet right outside the bathroom. Plus I'm going to leave a nice basket under the sink for extra towels, etc.

I actually had two medicine cabinets designed for my master bath.

This might not work with your 1920s style, but I've always loved Mexican mirrors – either plain decorative tin, or the ones with the inset tiles. I used one in the bathroom in my old house in Cleveland, in an otherwise traditional-style (but colorful) room:

Too bad you've ruled out medicine cabinets, because I was thinking a vintage mirrored cabinet might look cool there, and it's nice to have a place to hide your clutter, store extra things for guests, etc...

maddybeagle gave me the idea of the mexican mirrors. When I was in college I spent 6 months studying in Mexico and that's where I fell in love with their courtyard homes. Hence my U shaped house with the "courtyard" backyard.

The theme of my house is roses. For example, here is the tile for friend's entry floor

And here is my fireplace tile which also picks up the rose theme.
So what do you think about this mirror?

Or they also have it in a rectangular shape

    Love the round one!

    cpartist thanked maddybeagle

That sounds, and looks, perfect, cp!

Can you do a full frontal photo of the area to see which works better, round or rectangle?

This one, from Etsy, was a rose and has a retro vibe. There is also a square version and probably custom.

This is cool, but I am not sure it can be found

    This one is pretty https://www.enidhuttgallery.com/roses-silver-framed-oval-inset-mirror-stand-or-hang.ir

And I have just fallen in love with everything in the Etsy shop where this pewter arts and crafts mirror is made

I haven't clicked on all the links, but I really like the one with the musical notes, especially with your other more simple features.

Perhaps you could have a mirror framed with a theme that's meaningful to you?

This one below is pretty cool, too. Maybe get a stylized letter?

I vote La Fuente..right amount of interest, without overtaking over the surrounding details. The colors are not matchy yet echo others very well. (And I'm not subjective since crazy about roses). And I bet the sizes are right))

(that vintage one with roses, up the page, that justerrilynn posted-judging by it being on 1stDibs the price is probably over what I'd be able to pay..and I don't have the space too:) yet I simply love it. Not for the space but as independent entity. Very inspirational mirror.)

That round La Fuente mirror echoes the black flower-like tiles in the bathroom floor—were you thinking that? Seems like a good, fun choice, although I can’t visualize how it relates to overhead light and shelf. That bathroom is a wonder, and it just makes me smile whenever I see pictures.

    cpartist thanked dwiggins7aidaho

Thank you so much everyone. Fuentes also has one that is an arched top one though if the size works, I'm leaning towards the round one since like dwiggins said, it would echo the daisy's on the floor tile.

Can you do a full frontal photo of the area to see which works better, round or rectangle?

Becky, I'll try and get a picture either tomorrow or Monday and photoshop it in, although the bathroom isn't very deep. Good idea.

Localeater, I love that Macintosh stained glass style rose but since I'm having stained glass windows in both my master bedroom, DH's study, and in the stairwell, I feel I need something different. BTW, here is the stained glass window for DH's study. (This is a computer mockup so color and glass is different ) It's 3 20" x 20" windows.

Here is the window for our master bedroom (again this is a computer mockup and color and glass is different) Size is the same.
We are still working on designing the stairwell window.

I also have a stained glass window under my cabinets on the backsplash in my kitchen that is finished.
