I agree....turn the mirrors vertically. They look a bit strange with the one side right next to the wall.

I would install the mirrors vertically.

Then have an electrician install two new wall sconces (in a style that you like and will coordinate with your new finishes) above the mirrors to fill out the space.

Thanks for your suggestions. Initially I hung the mirrors vertically but it made the space look narrow and drew the eye up towards the ceiling (it may be that I was adjusting to two smaller mirrors after having had a full wall mirror). I’m thinking of using the existing pot light fittings and dropping a pendant style light to hang over each basin just above each mirror but unsure what type of light to hang. I’d like something dramatic that won’t get lost in the space. Not sure whether to go with a chandelier type or multi pendant! I’m confused!!!

I would still encourage you to hang your mirrors vertically.

As to the lights - a pendant hanging from the ceiling will likely draw the eye up too. Is there any way to rewire the space for wall fixtures above the mirrors?
