Bird Feeders - Divert them from Bugs?

I want to attract natural pest control and would love to see more birds. But I wonder if the birds will eat the seeds instead of bugs if I put out food. I find it unlikely, since if they want protein, they will likely eat the bugs. Will they eat both? Also, I figure I would need to stay away from suet, because of that same assumption. What are your thoughts?

Should I put out bird feeders or just focus on plants that attract the right birds?

Feeders will attract more birds that will eat more of the bugs. Studies show that feeders supply only a limited amount of the food birds find necessary to survive, ebven the seed eating birds do not rely on our feeders.

Put feeders out, put suet out, to supplement what the birds will find naturally.

While you're setting up bird feeders, don't forget the hummingbirds. They eat more mosquitoes than most people realize. Also, they're cute.
