Help - bad grout job by contractor? And what next?

I am finishing my apartment very soon. Now looking under good light. I think it's a bad job could use some input. My contractor boost about his work, and the tile worker claimed he have over 20 years of experience. They try to talk to me into it's might not be exceptional job, but definability a good and acceptable tile job. It looks bad all over - unevenness, holes, cracks, bubbles, and some very low grout areas.

How can they to fix this without re-grouting? or if it's even with re-grouting? I am still withhold my final payments until it is fixed.

Any advices will help! Thank you all!

I believe unsanded grout was used in a joint that was to wide or mixed to loose which resulted in the grout shrinking. If it is a cement based grout ( I'm fairly sure it is) you can NOT grout over it. The only thing for sure is the installer has been setting tile wrong for 20 years and won't be changing any time soon. As I tell everyone. Get the name of the grout manufacturer and contact them directly instead of gathering random opinions on-line. Eliminate the risk of bad advise and arm yourself with facts.

They can regrout over the existing job with the same color grout. I recently had the tile installer do another coat of grout on my marble bathroom floors. It worked and looks much better.

I am a DIY stay at mom and have done several bathrooms at this point plus backsplashes. My first grout experience was 100 times better than that. I can't even believe they would consider that professional.

Maybe ask them if they want those pictures attached to their reviews?

not just the grout. what did they use for the edge, tile nippers? definitely not a good tile saw. i would not be happy with that at all.

Thank you guys! He offered to re-grout again, should I accept it? I lost trust in his work quality already.

Here are few photos of very bad door lock installation. I am speechless. Anyway to fix it?

If it's a wall tile then at least it won't be exposed to water. Unless it's a shower wall. If its just a wall you can fill the holes with grout but in general the overall look is pretty bad so you may want to remove a few mms of the existing grout so there's enough depth for tht new grout to adhere and fill in. Like mentioned above you should check what grout was used. It amazes me "professional" tilers have results like this. Grouting isn't rocket science. Takes some work but just read the instructions on the damn package!
