Windows Design Dilemma Kid's Room

Window covering advice please

My young kids will have the front room as there bedroom, on an active street. We have four tall windows that face the street. Need window treatment advice that considers the following.

- Don’t want to worry about what the kids are or are not wearing as people walk by. Need some ideas for privacy that don’t block out the west light this room gets. And allows kids to see out.

- Room gets very hot in summer and needs windows to open to let in air.

I say up/down blinds. When you want total privacy, keep the blinds down (yet light filters above). If you want to see out, keep the blinds up. This photo is a sample of blinds can you can go up from the bottom, or down from the top. Perfect.

With young kids, you want to be careful with any treatments that have cords. Any cordless product is a great choice. Top down, bottom up...........another great option. Roller/solar shades are nice and neat..........the nice kind, not the big box store ones. There are so many fabric/textile choices for these too and a good price point.
