The first looks like newly emerging shoots of alstroemeria or Peruvian lily. Depending on the species, it could be considered a weed....... :-) Have you never seen this in this place in the garden before? Alstroemeria is a perennial so would reappear every year.

Thank you so much! I moved into this rental last year so have not been here for a whole year to see all the seasons and different things growing. Super excited about the daffodils and is that is Peruvian lily then I'm even more excited!

Just so ya know....not all Peruvian lilies are created equal :-) Some species, specifically Alstroemeria aurea (yellow or orange flowers), can self-seed profusely and run rampant in a garden!! Ask me how I know :-))

Haha, from experience I'm sure! I'll wait to see if any flowers sprout up and go from there. I appreciate your replies.

Did you enjoy the Daffs? What is going on with the 1st plant now?

Tiffany - I enjoyed the Daffodils thoroughly! The "weed" is overtaking that bed now. Don't think it is a lily of any kind as it has not flowered at all.

Thanks gardengal48! I'll wait until closer to summer before doing anything to it in that case! Din't want to cut it all down if it will bloom!

@gardengal48 - you were right, it is Alstroemeria! I'm so glad I didn't pull them this year. So thankful for Houzz and YOU! Here is a photo:
