I have two preferred kitchen layouts for my remodel. They both have good and bad points. Mainly functionality vs light.

This will be a complete reno, including windows and floors. We have already purchased a 48" range since my husband loves to cook.

Current situation:

Option 1: move the range to the exterior wall.

Pro:

layout

symmetry

Con:

We would have to go with much smaller windows. around 40" wide. VS the floor to ceiling ones we have now. Our backyard backs onto the woods and has a nice view. But this is open concept and there are more windows further down.

Option 2: Keep the range where it is now.

Pro:

large window to let in more light

Feature range wall

Con:

Layout isn't symmetrical at all.

more cramped

What do you think? What comes to mind. I'm open to any suggestions you might have.

Thanks so much!
