Ghost coating is typically a white sheet.

It’s a made up fancy name for a cheep cheesy shortcut that allows inferior woods to be used. Or it’s a cheap cheesy shortcut to genuine wood refinishing. It’s basically a semi transparent paint that changes the color of what’s underneath and obscures it a bit too. Only the cheapest cabinet companies use a tinted varnish. And only hacks use it to “refinish” existing wood. When it chips, you see the original wood color underneath because it just sits on the surface.

I thought she was talk about using gel stain. It’s a way to make light wood darker. You can also use it on painted furniture. I think she is amazing; it’s not necessarily my style. But she has some very good ideas. Love, love, love her!!!
