Fig trees indoors in winter

I am interested in purchasing a fig tree to live indoors most of the winter and outdoors in summer. I live in RI. However, I am not interested in a Fiddle Fig Tree. Wondering what fig tree keeps its leaves during the winter months? I realize this is the time they typically go dormant, but I am confused as I have seen trees that keep their leaves in the winter. I used to belong to a yoga center that had a magnificent 12 foot or taller potted fig tree who never lots its leaves no matter what season. I don't think in the summer months it bared fruit either. This sort of tree would be ideal, however I would be just as happy with a fruit baring tree. Just not one that is too bushy, but rather tall. Any suggestions of varieties and where to shop for them? Thank you.
