Chojuro Asian Pear self-pollination?

So I heard great things about Chojuro Asian Pear and want to plant one in my small backyard. I only have space for one tree.

Does Chojuro self pollinate? Heard differently. Some say it does not, some say it's sorta self pollinate, but with cross pollinate from other similar species, yields more fruits, yet some sites say it's self pollinate. My small family doesn't need a lot of fruits so as long as it provides enough for family of 3, and taste great, I'm totally OK. I read Shinseiki is self-fruiting, but Chojuro tastes better. I'm in Northern California. Chojuro, Shinseiki, 20th century, and Hosui are available here.
