My kitchen facelift reveal!!

last modified: 8 years ago

BEFORE
Thank you so much for all of your guidance. We changed out the countertops, backsplash, paint, some hardware, microwave, floors, sink & faucet. I'm really happy with the outcome. We bought this house 3 years ago & I was less than thrilled with the kitchen. The cabinets are solid oak, so I knew they were going to stay. I really really appreciate everyone's help with everything and especially pushing me to not settle on the granite. I'm so happy I held out till I found this stone. LOVE IT!! The backsplash is a crackle tile that is a little lost in this pic. It's so pretty in person.

Gorgeous! And the backsplash is doing exactly what it is supposed to do by allowing your countertops to be the star.

Very tasteful choices - it looks lovely. My simple backsplash barely shows in pictures, but I love it for its subtle prettiness - which it more true of yours since it has the crackle. Nice job - I am bookmarking this one:)

Wow, what a fantastic facelift. It's so much lighter. Love what you did to it. :)

I predict that people will find this very helpful when they are trying to envision what their kitchen would look like with similar changes.

It's lovely. Great inspiration for anyone wondering if cosmetic changes alone are worth doing. The cabinets look great surrounded by your new choices. Congratulations!

Really beautiful, mark_rachel! Would you please share your wall color? My kitchen color scheme is similar to yours (cabinets are a grey/brown wash + light grey Calacatta/Macaubus quartzite), and I'm trying to find a cool white that might have only a hint of grey. TIA.

Thanks everyone! I'm very happy with how it turned out.

@javiwa The color is Clay Beige BM. Have you looked at Edgecomb Gray maybe at 50%?

Thank you so much. The granite is Fiore Bianco. When I saw it I knew it was the one.

Thanks for the rec, mark_rachel. Edgecomb Gray does look cooler than your beautiful Clay Beige, so I'll put EG in my notes (I'm not quite at paint stage yet, but that'll be the easiest part of this entire reno for me: I'll paint the kitchen myself, and it's no biggy if I need to redo.).

How expensive was the glass backsplash? I love the look, I think I want to do it in some sort of blue

What a great transformation! I did a double take to make sure it was the same kitchen. It's gorgeous!

Thanks so much! The crackle tile was $11/sq ft. I was set on crackle so I was willing to go higher, but this one was perfect. I had to seal it, but so far very easy care.

I almost missed seeing your reveal!

I think I was one of the dissenters for. This stone. But it turned out beautiful.

    Happy to be proven wrong.

Enjoy your newly brightened space !
