I like the topone if you finish off the sides or at the least the right with maybe some plotted plants of something that's vertical and with shape, just to take away from the flatness of the TV and stand

I would not go bigger the only reason is you will not be able to place anything on top since it will distract the TV (You can place small thin horizontal items like a a candy dish but nothing too vertical).

So you need a vertical, something to break up the blandness and all the horizontal lines

Isn't that extra space where the surround speakers go?

Put some vases at the each side. To cover wall switches below cabinets, add some indoor plants, screens or magazine baskets to off track the eyes away from them. You could also add a frame to TV. Some examples:

I would go with a small plant underneath and some glass corner shelving for pictures etc etc in the right side corner...I just mocked up something just to show you how the preservative change by adding something in that corner

Fred we won't be havi g speakers on or next to the media stand. We got built in surround sound on the ceilings.
