looking at vivint, but it doesnt seem to integrate well with non-vivint products. love the idea of Kuna integrated lights and cameras outside. simplisafe? what home security system coupled with exterior cameras/lights is recommended? got a new build so open to all opinions!! Thanks!

Ditto Anglophilia. And as for the dog, our neighbor’s dog welcomed their burglars—even following them from room to room (video proof) and getting to “play fetch” with the burglars. It is a shepherd/pit mix. You know, a big, scary dog. Lol

We are also strongly considering vivint. I love that it will also warn for fire and flooding.

I have ADT as I get a discount on it from my membership in USAA. I've had it now for many years and have been totally satisfied.

Interested in this too. Recommend a hard wired security system since it's a new build or a security system installed after home is built like ADT/Vivint?

You should take a look at Samsung's SmartHome hub and partners. For example, you can use all of the sensors and options that SmartHome gives you and use it with ADT service if you wanted it and you can cancel that service at any time. It's probably the most mature home automation system on the market and can even make use of some Zwave and Zigbee sensors used in Lowe's home automation system by installing a community plugin. It works with Nest, which is the most popular smoke detector and thermostat, and even door locks like Schlage.
