Can kumquat such as Meiwa tolerate part shade area? i have a spot that next to a east facing wall, so about 4-6 hrs sun/day.

It can grow there but it will be slower growing and less fruitful.

Meiwa is one of my favorites.

Meiwa is the sweetest kumquat. Fukushu is probably the best one - still sweet and very juicy.

I have both :)

Mikhail, so what is the main difference between meiwa and fukushu? Fukushu is bigger, juicier but not as sweet? I guess taste is personal preference ?

Yes, Fukushu kumquats are bigger and juicier and still sweet for me.

For example, I cannot eat Nagami, way too sour for my taste.

Thanks for all the inputs! Unfortunately we have an Asian psyllids infestation and all the store around me had to destroy their citrus!!!!! Unbelievable...

Have you consider figs, Star fruit, mangoes,papaya,avocado instead. . Citrus is cheap at the grocery store.

Figs are great but I think (only my opinion) pluots and apriums are the best tasting fruits. However, citrus trees look much prettier.

I added 1 fig (Panache), 1 pluot (Flavor Queen) and 1 aprium (Cot-N-Candy) to my collection a month ago :)

I agree with Mikhail, Meiwa sweetest and Fukushu is the best. Nagami I wouldn't buy/plant but I eat them if someone gives to me :)

These nagami kumquats are from my Mom's front yard in SoCal. She said they are almost seedless this year with about 1-2 seeds per fruit. She estimate that there will be no seeds next year.

Beautiful tree, lots of fruit! Do they ever get to that size and amount of fruit in container, probably not.

Beautiful tree! My vote after trying Nagami, Fukushu, and Meiwa is definitely Meiwa. It is the sweetest.
