I’d pick from the colors you have now... blue, yellow, or white.

I might go with the color of the wall where the window is. Is that a light beige ivory?

I would also pick a fabric that combines your existing colors. Maybe a plaid that combines the blue, yellow and white. Florals seem too feminine for a gender neutral nursery and juvenile prints are too........well, juvenile!!

As to your question, it probably depends on the child, but at least my DS literally climbed the walls via curtains. So, I'd seriously consider blinds (cordless, of course).

Also, the crib may not keep him/her in for long.

These are cute (they do lean girly, though) and inexpensive: Curtains. Do you know what length you need?

If you plan to open and close them several times a day, grommet tops or rings and clips will make the task easier. Otherwise, a roller blind without strings would be very helpful for blocking the light.
