A photo would help, also, what kind of an above ground pool ? Maybe I missing something, what does the sewer line location have to do with placement of the pool? Idk

I would have to build it close to the driveway because of the sewer lines, I can't cover them with the pool or dig into the ground where it is, if I'm explaining that right

You would need to be several miles off of the street for most people to feel comfortable being on display in the front yard. Otherwise, the back yard is your best bet. And you will need a fence around it as insurance companies consider pools attractive nuisances that are high risks.

Did you check your local rules. We are rural and are not allowed pools in the front yard. If your allowed I would not put it on top of the septic system.

Sometimes above ground pools do not require fencing if the access ladder can be removed or locked instead. If pool was accessed or attached to deck, that could be different.

My house is very far off the road, I have this grand vision of having it in the front off off the deck and looking out my kitchen window to see it, the sun also sets in the front so that would very pretty over top of the pool...if it was in the back I don't think I would use it as much....but since I can't put it over the septic system it would have to be very close to the driveway and that would be hard to make it look attractive.

If you enclose it with an attractive deck and fence, and a bit of landscaping, it will look fine. It will still be an above ground pool, somewhat visible from the road, but it will also be a pool you will use, which is the important thing. Looks like you have a drainage ditch, of sorts, along the side of the driveway, so that will be something you'll have to consider.

My house is not perfect looking anyway, so a pool stuck in the middle wouldn't really bother me!

Amanda, there is a house around the corner from me with beautiful vines and flowering trees on one side that come about 10-12 feet into the front yard. I always thought it was beautiful. Then one summer I saw the beach ball bouncing and realized it was hiding a pool. Their back yard was all trees and a hill. It may take a few years to look like my neighbors, but it can be done right.

With a nice deck and plants, I think this could look just fine. It would be considered downright lovely in certain parts of rural Oklahoma in which I have lived. With that said, think really carefully about whether you will really use a pool. They can be a huge pain to keep up with. Something is always breaking. You have to clean them, close and open them, maintain their balance. When you are already busy, it is just one more annoying thing to deal with.

Too many people design their home and lifestyle around what other people think or do. They worry about “curb appeal” and pay no attention to”owner appeal”. They worry about resale value instead of the value of loving your space.

If it suits the layout of your property and your lifestyle to have a pool in the front, go for it. You can make it beautiful with a little creativity. Isn’t that the joy of rural living? To not have to worry about HOAs or what the Jones think?

If this is to be your forever home, I think you could make it look pretty good but the initial cost of proper landscaping would be a pretty penny unless you would be willing to wait several years to get the effect you probably desire by waiting for smaller plants and trees to grow enough to disguise your pool. If you plan to be in this home only 5 to 10 years, I would think it would be a rather expensive investment unless there are few ways to amuse yourself and your family relatively close to your home. One person to consult before you do ANYTHING is your homeowner's insurance agent as swimming pool coverage can add a lot to your insurance premium. If you do plan to sell this home down the line but still want to add the pool for your family to enjoy while you do live there, engage the services of a landscaping professional who could plan landscaping that would still look good even if a potential buyer wanted to remove the pool. Often they can work within your budget, and give you a detailed plan which can be implemented in stages over time. They can also give you a plan that you implement yourself to save money. Often times inground pool companies will include landscaping in a plan they present to you to get your pool contract but I doubt an above ground pool seller does so due to the lower cost of your investment. But it doesn't cost a penny to check when you're searching for a company from which to purchase an above ground pool. Good luck with whatever you decide, Amanda.
