There are a lot of containers around these days that are from synthetic materials but look like ceramics. One of their advantages is that they're light weight, although the dimensions you mention are quite small anyway. Availability will depend on where you are but they should be fairly easy to find.

Look for what are called 'water bowls'......they fit your requirements perfectly and are intended for just that purpose - a small water garden. If you can't find one at your local garden center that carries a good selection of glazed ceramic containers, you may need to seek out dealers.

Check Goodwill, your kitchen cabinets, if it holds water it works. Many different sizes and shapes in my garden to make water pots for water plants. I even have several punch containers in the ground, and a old bathroom sink. It adds wimzy to the garden.

Plastic lined whiskey barrels work nicely. I gave up all my waterbowls because raccoons kept trashing them :( too small and they could tip them over. Waterproof foam pots with no holes work too and they are often cheaper than stoneware/ceramic. I've had a lot of ceramic pots crack in winter over the years.
