I would most likely ask this question on the fruit or veggie forums. I do see references to verticillium wilt being transmitted from nightshade family plants to blackberries if planted in the same spot, but I don't think it is a general issue of pests being shared since they are in different plant families. As long as you don't plant the blackberries (Rose family) where tomatoes, etc.(nightshade family) have been grown recently and they aren't in the same planting be, I think you will be OK as long as you don't spread compost made from veggie plants on the blackberries. My inlaws had blackberries next to their veggie garden.

Yes, the concern is not about the blackberries being near those plants.........you just want avoid planting directly where those sorts of plants (Solanaceae) have been grown previously.

Growing up, both blackberries and boysenberries were grown on trellising surrounding our large vegetable garden, almost like a fence. There was never an issue.

Thanks you guys. Yeah, my grandparents' house had a chainlink fence against a wood fence, ten feet high, covered with blackberries and boysenberries. And part of it was near the back veggie garden. And nobody died. LOL the warning seemed a bit over the top to me. I see they must have been referring (badly, this wasn't spec') to the planting area or soil itself, not just to having things in the same general yard. I appreciate the input!
