Well, that's different. I love the pool. The shed is cute. The exterior view looks like a warehouse. I guess for that price you would have money left to renovate. It's mostly a matter of removing things. I wish the listing would include a bio of the people who live there and created this. I am always kind of fascinated with what was going on in people's minds and why they chose this style.

It would take a lot of work and $, but it’s mostly cosmetic. It’s certainly looks functional to live in as is. I’d love an indoor pool!

Love the property! Are you getting it? How much is the property tax? That’s a bargain for what you can get.

Hmmm....the words casino and brothel came to my mind.

I just saw that property on a Twitter thread and it was trashed. I wonder if this is how they fixed it? I'm going to see if I can find the pictures,

Never mind my post, I guess I'd just seen listing photos of the basement area.

What the heck happened in the basement? Since one of the owners is mobility-impaired perhaps they just never went down to see the, probably water, damage.

But since the carpet and mirrors and paint all have to be replaced in the rest of the house anyway, as long as the problem has been resolved then go for it.

To be honest this is the kind of house that I've always been drawn to for imagining myself in. The origins of it, not the current, um, decor. Not sure about the setting, not much yard, but it might be convenient to be across from school and hospital!

I saw the property tax: $13,533. It’s about the same as NY State.

I found this about the property.

Maybe it would make a good rehab/wellness center. That would take too much money to renovate for a family home in a neighborhood of more modest houses.

Wow! I'll bet it would look great rehabbed & a lot of that flashy stuff removed. But wow! again - that would be a monster task.

Interior furnishings kind of remind me of Graceland.

And the kitchen looks amazing - like something from a 60s movie.

    So. Much. Purple!

It looks like it would be perfect for a movie set for a movie about cocaine dealers in the 80's.

The carpet is my favorite part of it. But I also like the indoor pool. The outside shots with snow were pretty shocking, however, but I'm sure snow doesn't last very long.

All I can say is, that's a lot of house for the money. But it is truly a time warp. That purple wall around the circular staircase! Oh My!

I would love to get my hands on it. Just a redecorating dream! I would want a couple of housekeepers, though.

Summers that was my thought, "That's not a house, that's a compound!"

Love the pool area with the saunas and the game room! Wow, that would be a fun place. Lots of character. How to refurbish while still preserving appropriate amounts for the coolness factor. I do love 60's more than 70's, but it's still pretty awesome.

I have a feeling for that price there is a LOT of deferred maintenance that could get very expensive, not including the decor. And I wouldn't be happy with a flat roof where there's snow loads...

I appreciate it for what it is. Given the style, it was done well. I hope someone turns it into a B and B! I’d go.

I'm with Anele -- someone turn it into a B&B, and I'll go visit.

I appreciate the aging-in-place touches -- the sunken living area would bother me, but I see they retro fitted it with a wheelchair ramp. And that ergonomic toilet, yeah! (you are listening to someone recovering from knee surgery and undergoing physical therapy for same, and since I'm tall, most home thrones, alas, don't cut it. I am avoiding visiting people for any amount of time until I get back on my (ahem) feet again...).

Besides the obvious maintenance things, I'd get rid of most of the carpet. I don't mind the purple furniture. I'm actually more discomfited by the vast open expanses upwards and outwards, of the Open Design areas of the home - I like some sense of a cozier scale. Likewise that master bedroom would intimidate me.

But I'd love to visit and stay in the place for a few nights, once it is fixed up in a style that doesn't entirely toss out what the original builders wanted. I mean, for a few nights, that tiger could be a good conversation piece!
