i used to grow hosta seeds under lights ...

i started with 24 hours light ... but then moved to 16 on.. with 8 off ... supposedly tricking the plants into thinking the lights were on 24/7 .... who knows were i heard or read that ... it just saved money on electric ...

24/7 light... being so weak.. compared to sunshine .. or natural light ... is the norm .. ergo ... they dont have a requisite 'sleep' variable.. imo ...

as to emotional or physiologically problems... i will leave that to your tongue and cheek .. lol ..

but i do think you need a new timer .... if its malfunctioning .... imo .. then it might be a fire danger .... electric appliances arent supposed to do whatever they want.. eh .... perhaps it has emotional issues .... lol

I do have Rhododendra that need a shrink. Some are now blooming in the fall and not by just one or two flowers. I wonder if I can get a group session....

As for the timer, the screw tab that triggers the switch came loose. Maybe I just did not tighten it when I changed the hour setting.

Still, the concept of 24/7 light is intriguing. I am always looking for something to test.
