Konrad what apple is better sept ruby or norkent

I love Sept. Ruby for juicing...this apple is a little more tart and doesn't store long like Norkent. For a overall evaluation..taste and storage....on a scale from 1 to 10...I give Sept. Ruby about a 7 and Norkent 9.

Konrad, when you feed the deer free apples on the ground like that, do you make them sign a covenant not to eat your trees in winter? :)

Ha...Deer in winter on mature trees is not a problem, much wood I need to prune down anyway, it's when Moose rip down large branches in winter it doesn't look nice...some day I'll have a game fencing around. I do get some benefit from moose, free manure....about a 50 piles I racked up.. makes good slow release fertilizer lol.
