Have you tried using old fitted sheets (with the elastic corners)? they seem to work pretty good for me when there is a lot of wind. Also Plankets work pretty good. they have a drawstring but after a few uses something always snags them or they get caught and rip.

low 30 here at bay area this morning. I placed blanket over yesterday.

Mid to upper 30's for me,luckily enough. P.obtusa holding up. Funny thing is..it dropped a few leafs when we went from 70's to high 50's...but now seems to have stabilized,holding leafs in these 30's nights.

Another cold one tonight, w eather guy just said 38 for us. Last night was 39.

Your safe. Its cold for people in soucal,but wont bother P.rubra now dormant anyways. March is supposed to go above average. So good for warm,bad for rains and snow.

33f..but I tell you..Brugsmansia are all still in leaf and blooming. No frost on plants. I would guess that a February 22, 33f does not have the punch of that same temp in late December into January.

For one thing,its 45 minutes of 33f...then quickly climbs into the 40's. Helps!

KAWAGOE,has the Celadine handled the winter so far? Mine in a pot is ok ..but in ground is another story in the bay area. They can rot so fast.

Hi Stanofh, Overall, My Celadine is doing fine except few tips has black tips and rot but it is stopped for now. I think I have placed moving blanket from haborfreight may cause it. blanket got wet and temperature drop may cause the block tips. I should place plastic cover.....

good thing is no roots rot.

I was given the sock idea from 1 of the long time geniuses around here. Used to use sheets but the wind blows them off. I tried clamping bottoms and did more damage to tips than I wanted...

I was told start to worry around 38 or 39 degrees. Depends on how well formed root base is...some are less cold tolerant than others as well. Some Thai varieties for sure...

Common things we wouldn't think of right haha. Thanks, I'm determined to get flowers this year.

My plants dropped leaves late this year...late January before most were sleeping (of the ones that go to sleep). Don’t forget, another great way to cover plumeria tips if cold and wet is noodle head them.

Noodle head is the term I call it but you probably have heard of the method: cut pool noodle 1x lengthwise, and then cut it into ‘sleeves’ to wrap around plumeria branches. Let the noodle extend beyond the branch tip and tape it off or seal with plastic wrap=noodle head.

And yes, pink noodles look the best! Haha
