I finally got my jugs out. Wanted to share photos in case it helped anybody. Last year I had a big slug problem and lost too many seedlings. This year I've elevated the jugs. The handle of an old garden cart broke off, so that cart now makes a perfect jug holder. I have some oven grates from an oven that had to be replaced. Before the installers carted it off I grabbed all the grates just for this purpose. I've got the oven grates elevated just with firewood. Everything is off the ground and much safer from slugs now! In addition, the big pile of firewood by them shelter the jugs from our strongest winds which blow off the water. They stay safe and wind-free. One day that stack will be gone, but for now we've got so many damaged trees still to take out I think I'm going to have a pile for at least a couple more years. We've maxed out multiple firewood stacks around the yard, there's no place to put these logs, and we've got more to cut this spring. We're running the fireplace and wood stove like mad just to open up room to stack all the logs!
