family room photo arrangement, lamps and window treatment that are rig

Need to figure out if the photo arrangement is ok.
Are lamps too heavy.
What style and color to coordinate window treatments.
Any suggestions please

Photos are too high & wide. The art over sofa should be 75% the width of the sofa. See if hanging the 3 with 1" in between 5" above the sofa works or you may be able to only use 2 in that spot. Plates should be hung somewhere vertically. Center the sofa on the rug, the front legs of all pieces should be on the rug. Inside mount roman shades on the window, the same color as the trim and lower the TV

I would lower the three framed photos above the sofa with all being at the same height. The three round frames could go on side of the mirror. Neutral drapery panels on all windows. Nice, open space.

I think lamps are too heavy for the room. You may want to try a couple different styles for a more updated look.

What JCK910 said. Also, yes the lamps are too heavy. The furniture is heavy already, so some thinner and slightly taller lamps would add some “lightness” to the room.

As above. This looks so much better. On the whole I really like your room, heavy lamps and all. I think they are something of a feature. Any chance of replacing the fan with a more elegant light fixture?

maybe a glass lamp to lighten things up. good job on pics. seems a bit crowded with those 2 chairs and whatever is behind them and the mirror
