This area needs a nice eye flow. (everything in this area has its own and goes with nothing or each other). warm the wall colors, take the is bar out add a open island with some seating. add some lightting, 3 steps one back lighting two light of over all and then task lighting. kitchler has some real nice display lights to shhow you the diferance. if you like tile do a change in sizes with in acct with same tones as your new wall color.Good luck candy rae

A pale rose color for the walls and white cabinets is a good match,but a espresso brown toowill look good ,if the area is small white is a good choice but if the kitchen is big enough a dark brown will look elegant

Looks like you need a whole new kitchen. Not near enough cabinets. I think I would go with a dark stained walnut to go with your flooring, it would be hard to change your flooring without doing the whole area. Granite counters with glossy subway backsplash. take the blinds out. Add recessed LED ceiling lights, and some under counter lights. Or, if you go with white cabinets, walls and everything, you will need interest. Like some glass fronts doors, and add lots of texture. Good lighting, maybe some hanging lights. Backsplash mainly white with some color tiles to coordinate with the floor.

You say you have a decorator, but I think you need a kitchen designer...if you are going to redo get a pro to help you use this space to it's full advantage. The floors make the room feel almost a Spanish style, so i like the idea of an espresso or maybe a cream with a stain wash on them.

I've seen this design in multiple homes (same person, multiple houses - they keep building and selling), and they way they've done it is white cabinets and black countertops. It's clean and modern with the warmth below.
