Roarah - according to the product literature it can be applied over drywall or tile. The kit the fabric comes with includes materials to waterproof the wall behind the paper before you apply the fabric/paper. My contractor was nervous and put up a waterproof Kerdi board (or something like that) over the drywall before beginning the product application. I’ve attached a video that shows the lengthy and multi stepped but ultimately simple process.

There are seams, it came in two or three rolls. I just went and looked for the seam and only found one, they are difficult to see. Picture below, super close up. Even quite close up it appears seamless, like a painting. And in the close up you can see it really looks like a textile. Definitely more fabric than paper.

That is stunning! I always have to close my eyes in the shower because I have sensitive eyes. Don't know how I could manage that with something so spectacular to look at. You and your contractor should be very proud of your vision/work!

This is AMAZING! I created a wet wallpaper sort of wall in my bathroom but it was a diy. I have never seen a product like this sold. I love the way yours looks like you are moving into another living space from the bedroom instead of moving into a bathroom. Stunning.

I think it’s designed so basically water doesn’t penetrate into anything that could grow mold? I’m not sure how the seams work - most of the sheet membrane systems require an overlap that would look funny with the design. Didn’t read the install instructions.

They don’t have a very large selection of designs, though.

Pirate is correct that the protective coats over the fabric protect the fabric from moisture and mold. The seam does not seem to overlap, at least not that I can tell visually. Water doesn’t pool or sit on the fabric either.

They have dozens of designs and release more each year. But no, not hundreds like many regular wallpaper companies I guess..

Sochi - many of the designs look too large to work in a smaller area like a shower added on the end of a powder room. I’m very curious how it holds up for you, though. I like the look much more than tile.

Can I ask what the wallpaper system costs?

The paper + product for application is about 130 euros per metre squared. Then shipping and labour. Also possible to get through Wall and Deco in Florida in US$, but I got it through a shop in the Netherlands. See link below. Application is labour and time intensive (much waiting for the various protection coatings to dry), but simple and possible to DIY if you’re patient and good at installing wallpaper and painting.
