Doesn’t honestly matter. Almost any sealer will help slow down stain absorption. Stains by isn’t the issue. Nothing will prevent etching, chips, or scratching.

Stoneguard will prevent etching and scratching on marble. I'm not sure about chipping, but my trainer told me his customer's son, in a fit of rage, made a fork attack on their countertop. The Stoneguard was ruined, but the marble unscathed.

Antolini has 12-hour etch-proof marble, but it's proprietary and expensive. At a trade show, an employee of Antolini told me even he couldn't get into the plant where they process.

Why would you buy natural stone only to cover it with cling wrap? or clear window tint?

You would cover it to cost effectively protect it from etching which Meta Creme won't do.
