I have countertops!

I have countertops! And they were installed with only some minor hitches.

I am breathing a huge sigh of relief and I'm in love with them.

First my master bath countertops. This is white onyx.

And a view of the actual counters.

Here is the quartzite (Fascination) in DH's coffee/beverage cabinet. (Doors were removed to install counters.)

Here is the perimeter countertops. Note that they still have to cut out for the cooktop but they are waiting until we actually have the cooktop on site.

And finally, my island!

It's hard to not sound cheesy when gushing about your kitchen, but it's truly a thing of beauty.

    Thank you all.

The floors are from Kahr's Canvas collection. Color is Bristle and it's engineered wood white oak.

I'm sorry, cp. Having seen the blue tape, I can never unsee it. Your kitchen will never be the same to me.

What happened with the dishwasher panel issue?

barncatz, the horrors of blue tape. LOL

The dishwasher panel and the fridge panels are being redone.

    Thank you still.

I know these aren't kitchen pics but wanted to share. I cross posted these on the Building a Home forum. I'm very happy with the overall feel.

Powder room. This tile is also the tile in the friend's entry. It ends at the friend's entry entry to the kitchen. (Did that make sense?)

Powder room closeup. The roses on the tiles on the backsplash are the same color as the ceiling. The vanity was a CL find. Antique lighting. Moen faucet. Signature Hardware copper sink.

Front foyer looking from living room towards elevator. The glass door elevator will be frosted and the wall on the left will be getting a Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper. The pattern is called Thistle. Antique light fixture.

Looking from the front foyer down the hall to the master suite. The dog's hideaway is the area under the stairs on the left. The doors past that are the washer/dryer cabinets which were also made by the our kitchen cabinet maker. Antique pendant light holders with Lundberg glass globes.

Next up are master bathroom photos.

First photo is looking from the hallway (opposite the laundry closet) into the bathroom. Vanity and medicine cabinets are the same quarter sawn oak as my fireplace wall and my island in the kitchen. Light fixtures are Arroyo Craftsman taken from my condo.

Vanity is white onyx and flooring is marble and onyx.

This is looking into the bathroom from the master bedroom. Cocoa is checking everything out. She's walking towards the door leading out to the hallway. Opposite the tub is the shower, and before the shower is the toilet closet.

The vanity. Knobs are Anne At Home and faucets are American Standard Quentin.

Tub and the area behind will have narrow shelving. Tub is from Signature Hardware.

Shower. Above is a rain head/ regular shower head and on the back wall is my hand held. This is the same hand held I had in my condo, but they changed the slide portion from chrome to cheap plastic. I really need to check it out and see if I can get a better quality piece than the ugly gray piece of plastic. Not happy about what's there.

These last two pics are the upstairs guest bathroom. Just waiting on the black toilet seat cover. You cans see the reflection on the glass of the pendant light.

    DXV sink. Delta faucet.

Really pleasing aesthetic, functional, and so well thought out. Seamless. Can't even decide what specific I like most...the soon to be wallpaper? the lighting? the onyx vanity? Again, congratulations!

Thank you. It's been a long 3 years getting to this point. I was so naive 3 years ago when I thought I'd have a brand new house in one year. Ah well. Live and learn.

hollybar, glad you like it all. Did I mention the custom stained glass windows going into the backsplash window in the kitchen?

Question for you, do you have access to the dog area under the stairs through another door (besides the dog door)?

Nope. To get in there, we'll have to crawl on our bellies. However the "room" is only about 3.5' wide x 3.5' long and about 18" high. Cocoa is all of 10.5 lbs soaking wet and I can always coax her out of her hiding space now so am not worried. It is just large enough to be able to get the vacuum hose in too.

omg, cpartist, I love all your nods to history in your new home!

Thank you Lisa. That's what I was hoping for. When I started this project, I told the builder, I wanted a house that wouldn't necessarily fool anyone. However I wanted one where at first glance they would wonder if it was an older house that was renovated or was it a newer house.

I am new to the party/thread. I have never been a fan of countertops with alot of movement...until now! Really stunning and DIFFERENT. You must send in pictures to House Beautiful or Better Homes and Gardens when the home is complete. I said the same thing to nidnay. I look forward to seeing the art that you choose, cpartist.

cpartist, I feel rather at a loss for words {picking jaw up off floor}. I’d seen photos of your bathroom tile work in another thread and felt speechless then, too. Ok, words come to me:

Exquisite. The colors are gorgeous. Not a single detail that isn’t utterly impeccable. How you did all this in 3 years I don’t know, but clearly you are the most detail-oriented person. I don’t know how you have put so many rooms together so beautifully (not to mention the exterior, the floor plan details, an entire home!), all the while keeping function in mind. My heavens, cp, everything… Everything is just a delight to the eye! And so completely thoughtful and tasteful.

Departing from your kitchen, I’m in love with the powder room vanity-find, and those gorgeous rose tiles that match the ceiling. Your master bath tile-work is divine.

Darn, I can’t remember who said it here but the comment was something like “if I can find my fridge, it isn’t right yet” – which made me roar with laughter and shake my head in agreement! I think your freezer drawer is fine, and I would have thought that a drawer if you hadn’t said it was the freezer drawer : )

barncatz, you cracked me up! But… now I can’t stop thinking about that bit of blue tape…

Thank you Ishack. I have so many windows, I don't have room for much artwork. At least not much that is large. I have a collection of colored pencil drawings and paintings from friend's who's art I admire and love, plus art collected on our travels. Most will create small groupings.

    Thanks boxerpal.

I love your watching your dream unfold.

I'm just hoping I can share "final" photos before the end of the season. I'm thinking the final photos will have to wait until next season. :(

    Thank you TooMany.

How you did all this in 3 years I don’t know, but clearly you are the most detail-oriented person.

I guess that's why I love doing colored pencils.

Best of luck linda. My best advice to anyone is to find something that you love and work from that. For me it was the quartzite. After I found it, the colors fell into place for the whole house.

    thank you ssharris.

It's pretty hard to decide what my favorite thing is in your house, but the antique light fixture in your front foyer might be the one. Congratulations on your lovely home.

While everything in your house is really just so well done, I find myself particularly drawn to the guest bath. It truly looks as if it’s been there 100 years, but in a good way. ;)

BTW: What are the dimensions of the shower?

I just wanted to chime in and congratulate you on ALL your choices, just beautiful.

Especially stuck by your lovely backsplash and how the tile color picks up on your quartzite countertops without looking too matchy-matchy. Nicely done ! None of that I-hate-my-new-backsplash drama from you for sure :)

Hope you get to enjoy your new house soon.

Thank you Leela. I adore that light fixture and am so glad I found it on eBay.

BTW: What are the dimensions of the shower?

Thank you Sammy. The actual dimension within the shower on the floor is just shy of 34" wide x 5' long.

Especially stuck by your lovely backsplash and how the tile color picks up on your quartzite countertops without looking too matchy-matchy.

Thank you. My years as a wallpaper and fabric designer and colorist certainly helped hone my eye for coordinating colors. At least I hope it did.

CP, your art is just stunning. I took a class in alcohol inks this last weekend (TONS of fun, by the way) and one of the color combos I practiced with ended up looking just like your quartzite. I actually thought to myself, "This looks like CPartist's countertops!". Glad I didn't say it out loud, the instructor would have been v. confused.

Wow. Just wow. You’ve been a mainstay on here since my early days of planning my own kitchen and now seeing yours come through to fruition is heartwarming! It makes perfect sense to me that you are such a talented artist, because your home is truly a work of art! The millwork, the details, the granite, oh that stone!! The soaker tub placed so perfectly below a window bank and that basketweave marble tile. I can’t decide, it’s all so perfect! I hope you plan a staycation for yourself to enjoy each and every perfectly designed square-foot!

Yes I'm satisfied with the cabinet company. They have been very responsive. If you're in FL and you message me I can give you the information. They don't go outside of FL to do cabinetry.
