More pics of the actual room, walls, windows, floorplan, might garner you more responses. Looks like an interesting start to your room!

So far your elements look very cohesive. We need more pics/information/direction.

Fabulous.
Are you thinking rich, warm and cosy, or light & airy cosy? Your furniture
could go either way. One thing I would suggest is that you look at fabrics with
a natural texture, such as burlap, or thick weave linens. I can't copy this pic to place it here, but I do like the cheeky fringe on these: https://www.ballarddesigns.com/fringed-burlap-panel/162904?SourceCode=BDSBT1&cm_vc=Popular%20Searches

The footstool is great, but don't place it at the end of the bed where it obscures the footboard. Use it elsewhere in the room.

I'd also love to see some pictures of the room.

Are yo planning on leaving the pieces as is or refinishing? My concern is with the shape they are in there is lead paint in there.I think the multi drawer piece is great for accessories , with hand printed labels. We really need pics of the space to be more helpful. IMO the foot locker is too small in scale for the other pieces.

For art I suggest you look at local sources (artist, art schools) for original work or else at vintage shops. You need to keep that sense of reality and history going. You don't need anything above the bed, but you could certainly have something on the wall to the right between the window and the door.

Update on the paint because I did start to be concerned and wanted to confirm. It’s been encapsulated so it’s safe- but it also was confirmed to be milk paint. ❤️

Fully understand why you should have a kennel there. I have a rabbit hutch right behind me as I type. No rabbit, but I was privileged to host one for a couple of days and now it must be cleaned out before being moved back to the great outdoors.

The hutch, not the rabbit.

Rina- love the curtains! My only concern is the size of the nightstands covering the adorable fringe! I like your ideas and style though and would love more suggestions from you. Open to either cozy option- dark or light. Looking to stay away from chocolate brown... otherwise open! Avoiding too much brown because the room does lead into a warm cozy office with fireplace. It’s also being completed currently, but it’s decorated in blush, grey, copper if that helps. Also the rest of the house has grey furniture. Love mixed metals, wood, etc.

sweet bunbuns. My friend has a whole crew of rabbits. They’re precious- and sometimes a total handful. Laughing at the idea of cleaning after babysitting them! Hers like to free roam.

I think you’re my spirit person. Thank you for the great ideas and suggestions! (Also loving local artwork! The family with the doors has Antiques and are collectors... I should inquire about art they might have!) And never thought of art on that wall- LOVE that. Definitely looking into it.

tarrin27, I am not a designer but just wanted to say I love your bed! What a fabulous idea. I am following to see what you do with this room. Good luck and have fun!

Jane, Thank you so much! That is so sweet of you! It’s a deferent style for sure but is very sentimental. I’ll continue to post photos as I buy things And it comes together.

Excellent point on the photo frames! They’re kind of up there as storage and to protect them right now bc we quickly realized they didn’t fit well, but were worried the little ones who visit us might break them accidentally. They’re getting relocated ASAP!

Would you leave the space open- or do you think a thin long metal artwork piece would be nice?

Leave open. Get rid of the tiny rug in front of the bed. Are you keeping the bedding? I would find some cool bedding and then pull the colors to paint the walls on go with drapes from that.

Your room and vintage furnishings are delightful!! I love seeing such things incorporated into real living.

Thanks everyone! Definitely switching bedding. But having trouble finding an option that works with the cream/teal/wood/rustic vibe. I’d LOVE any bedding suggestions that would work color wise! ❤️ and yes- tiny rug and photo frames are going ASAP!

I don’t necessarily want any of those colors in the bedding- I just want it to coordinate. I think the bedding is where I’m really hitting a wall. If I could find it I might be inspired again.

I do have a fantastic down to work with- so a duvet cover would be great. We are looking for a nice fluffy multi layered option.

Your sentimental pieces are beautiful. I agree with nothing above the headboard. Looking forward to your progress!

Thank you for the kind words, soul sister. Playing with ideas, with a choice of two sidetables. One is budget, the other is, er, not. But so yummy.

If the patchwork ain't your thing, well the other stuff would work as well without. I chose the rug to give just a hint of the pink next door. Is that a vintage pink radio I see there?
