Lucky you! I had a Kramer's Supreme once upon a time. Of course, living in Wisconsin, I had to grow it in a pot. Every winter I'd haul it over to my grandma's house. She had several glassed in porches that hovered at or just below freezing all winter. As the days began to grow longer, my camellias would burst into bloom. It was a lovely sight. I believe the others I had were Nuccio's Gem, Debutante and Carter's Sunburst. Unfortunately, my grandmother has since passed away... And I no longer have a prime spot for wintering camellias. So I enjoy them vicariously through others!

Aw that’s a lovely story, Scott. I’m sorry to hear you lost your Mum :/

    Wishing you all the best.

Gorgeous! Does it open up further?

  • luis_pr

Yes, it should open further and develop a peony-like form. Mine is ending its display of blooms now.
