If you are asking if working remotely with a designer works, the answer is YES. I do it all the time and it is very successful. We use email, Houzz ideabooks and hunt for items as we go along. I have done small projects and large ones. So, yes, it is fun and pretty easy too.

I have worked with folks all over the world! As long as you can communicate with photos and occasional phone conversations, along with email, and you are willing to do a lot of leg work, it works. Do you know this person? Do you feel comfortable with the person's work? Might need to make sure about that by doing a small project to start and see how it goes.

I work with a majority of my clients remotely, its great especially when there are conflicting schedules due to work or family obligations! My advice is going with someone with a good rep and you should be just fine and enjoy the process! I also recommend clear communication throughout and deleting any items you discuss that you decide not to go with this way there isn't any misunderstanding between you both (you and your designer).
