Furniture stuff

What kind of furniture can you see here? Bar stools, breakfast table and couches in particular. I would say I have traditional style and nothing too modern. I also need rugs, solid to break up the floors!

As you can tell I'm installing new floors, just had it painted gray and keeping the cabinets the way they are. I feel like something is throwing me off but hubby keeps saying it will all come together!

Hubby might be optimistic. The paint is reading very blue vs. gray is too cool for the flooring, and the cabinets would be better white, .......or the floor was not a great choice.........

What is throwing you off is that it is not done yet.

Finish the flooring because the grey concrete is dominating the room.

I think it's the paint color. It's very blue/gray as Jan said, but everything else is warmer. A greige paint would work better and help tie it all together.

Floors are cool. By that I mean very fun and unique. I don't mean the opposite of warm.

    Is this a family room?

Your backsplash, counters and floors are all warm tones, which clash with the cool gray paint. The paint needs changed.

Yeah. . . these . . . don't go together. What are you most willing to change?

Agree with others, it's the paint. Too cool for your other finishes. Before you lock yourself into a color that's trending out, I'd repaint. A creamy off-white. You'll open yourself up to lots of beautiful options.

i am with patricia, you really need to furnish and then repaint.

in order for us to help you more, you need to tell us what you want to do in there?

It's the gray. At least, this should be easiest to modify.

Hello, here is a photo of grey with wood flooring :-)

Maybe, and I'm no professional - it is the cupboards in the back ground that are too warm? What if the cupboards were painted a dark grey to pick up a tone in your floor? The pic I found shows lighter grey walls with the large statement wall being quite dark but provides a contrast.

Oops, sorry.. I just read you wanted to keep the cupboards the same. I hope you find your solution :-)

I'm afraid the cupboards and the floor are fighting with each other, and that flooring unfortunately is not traditional. Would changing the floor to a warm brown color be cost-prohibitive?

I like the look you are going for! I would add long exaggerated door pulls to add a contemporary touch to the wood grain cabinets....just keep going till it is done and remember you are going in pieces and it looks disjointed now but I thin you will get there.......the stainless open shelves in a spot in the kitchen could be a nice addition too; something to think about!

Thank you for all the comments! The floors are here to stay, I'm more flexible on paint but think I'll wait til all the floor is done. I don't mind painting the cabinets either. I really don't want contemporary so would painting the walls or cabinets be better?

Also, I thought I did pick a "griege" color, it's agreeable gray.

once again jen, your best bet is to get your decorating done first. a rug maybe bring in the colors and make it all look great, you would be surprised.
