Furniture Styles

When searching for the right furniture to rent, the idea is to find something fitting your taste and style. Knowing what type of furniture to look at can be hard. You don’t have enough time to sit and look at every piece of furniture that is available for rent. Knowing what style to look for is helpful. There are three main styles of rental furniture, contemporary, traditional and transitional.

If you live in an urban area or just want to achieve the urban style, look for furnishings with a contemporary design. Contemporary furnishing is described as being sleek, compact and light. Urban areas are busy already, this style of furniture is designed to match the urban style but not add to the busyness. Furniture pieces tend to not be covered with much decoration. The materials are wide ranging, wood, glass or metal and shades of them very, too. Contemporary furnishing though distinct, is available in a variety of colors.

Traditional furnishings are one of the most common styles. Traditional bedroom and dining furnishings are usually of a medium to dark wood color. Upholstery and other items tend to be decorative, more so than contemporary furnishings. Most are decorated with floral patterns or stripes and plaids. Colors tend to be more muted. Bold, bright colors are not common. With traditional styled homes, all the pieces appear to match almost perfectly.

Transitional furnishings are in between contemporary and traditional. Transitional furnishings are more decorative than contemporary styles but not as much as traditional. It is a mix of the two. If you like certain aspects of contemporary and traditional furnishings take a look at transitional pieces. This will help to incorporate all the aspects you are looking for.

Brook Furniture Rental has many pieces that will coordinate with these styles. You will be able to find furnishings that fit your style and price range. Renting furniture allows you the opportunity to explore different styles. Since the furniture is not permanent, why not try some furnishings of different styles. Your living room can have traditional furnishings and your bedroom can have more contemporary pieces. Renting furniture will let you learn what you like and don’t like in terms of style. Explore with different styles and let your own style show through your furnishings!
