Thank you for your questions. We always use LED recessed fixtures now and make sure that the color is 2800-3,000 degrees for a warm (daylight) equivalent light. This is really important in a kitchen! We do the same with the strip lighting under the upper cabinets - and we spec a continuous plastic lens for even distribution of light on the countertops. Hope this is helpful! There are many good manufacturers out there now - your electrician can make a recommendation. We use Blaze for the under cabinet lighting.
